Hibiscus Products

Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family (Malvaceae) that includes both perennial shrubs and annual herbs. These plants are widely known for their large, vibrant, and showy flowers that come in a wide array of colors, including red, pink, yellow, orange, and white. Hibiscus flowers have prominent stamens and a distinctive trumpet-like shape. While there are many species of hibiscus, the two most commonly grown types are the tropical hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) and the hardy hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus). Tropical hibiscus is grown in warmer climates or as a potted plant indoors, while hardy hibiscus can withstand colder temperatures and is more suitable for temperate regions.

Common Types:

  1. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (Tropical Hibiscus): This type is commonly grown as a decorative houseplant or in tropical and subtropical gardens. It produces large, colorful flowers with a range of hues and patterns.
  2. Hibiscus syriacus (Rose of Sharon or Hardy Hibiscus): Native to Asia, this variety is more cold-resistant and can thrive in temperate climates. It bears large, showy flowers, and some cultivars have variegated foliage.
