The Bearss Lime Tree, also known as the Persian Lime Tree or Tahitian lime, is a cultivar of the Citrus × latifolia species and the most widely planted lime tree variety.

Persian lime trees are more cold-hardy than other citrus trees and are very rigorous fruit trees with seedless fruit and nearly thornless stems.

The Persian lime tree is a naturally dwarf-sized cultivar of lime that produces an abundance of juicy green limes that yellow as they ripen but can remain vivid green in warmer tropical climates. Bearss seedless lime is more commercially successful than most other varieties for its size longer shelf life and very strong fresh flavor.

Tahiti lime trees are hardy in USDA hardiness zones 9 -11. You can extend that down to zone 4 as long as it is protected as temperatures fall. This dwarf lime tree is a high-producing tree and most of the fruit is born during the winter and early spring, but it does bear fruit year-round.

Growing a lime Bearss tree is easy because Bearss seedless limes are self-fertile, meaning you will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding Bearss lime trees will drastically increase the size of your crop.

As for general maintenance, this dwarf lime tree needs full sun and evenly moist soil with good drainage holes. Use a fertilizer specifically for citrus during the warmer spring and summer seasons. Order your lime tree right away from Shrubhub to start enjoying it as soon as possible.
